  • Disclaimers

Some of the northern bloggers have had situations in which they were monitored by employers or  others, and have posted disclaimers tating that the blog merely represented their own personal views, but the one I love the best is Kate's from Post Town Ghosts

"Nothing I say on this personal blog reflects the news or views of the company I work for (or the company I keep)"

so District of Columbia who keeps turning up in my footprints I do not think I offer a threat to Canadian/US security or relations!

  • Introducing the NUNIES

Did you know that there are over 60 bloggers in Nunavut listed in the link I have at the top of my site? I feel privileged to be on that list although I really only spend part of my year here. But Clare has just created a new set of awards, so i encourage you to check them out. he writes...

"In celebration of Blogging in Nunavut I'm introducing the Nunies in conjunction with The House and other Arctic musings.  The Nunies are a simple recognition of the best that blogging in Nunavut has to offer.  Here is how it works...

From now until January 21st, 2008 there will be the opportunity to nominate blogs in two categories:
    1) Best Nunavut Blog
    2) Best New Nunavut Blog (the blog must have started in 2007)

    and a third category for...
    3) Best post of 2007.."

About me...

An Albertan & Canadian, definitely a northern gal. Social worker by profession, this blog has included some of my work over 10 years in Nunavut from 2002 on. Passionate about slowing down & taking time to appreciate the beauty of the outdoors or kindness in relationships as gifts & blessings; injustices against children in situations beyond their control; my faith; Nature, experiencing the outdoors whether cycling, walking. x-c skiing or gardening, my dogs, capturing on film God's beauty, experiencing life intensely & with the senses, richness of late afternoon light, wind in my hair cycling with my dog on a beach road, couching inches from an arctic flower or alpine lichen to capture it with my camera, insight of a student's new learning, a good conversation over a coffee.
