Discovered that the GGG grandmother ( see posting below ) was Scottish not Irish, immigrants in 1800. About 10 years ago or so took a summer trip to Sussex Corner NB with my daughters who were in their early teens, for a family reunion on my paternal grandfathers side. It was quite interesting meeting third cousins who were look alikes to yourself and many aunts and uncles. A little grave yard in the church yard there showed by Gr. grandparents and about 3 children who had died in infancy. Our day of touring near St. John was to see how many ferries and covered bridges we could get in one day...great fun as also hit a number of farmer's markets in smaller towns. My girls felt life was much slower in the maritimes than in Western Canada, but loved our trip to PEI ( before the bridge ) the red beaches, lupines and all the Anne of Green Gables spots.
Spring is defintely on its way with melting snow and mud....I do not look forward to the clean up with the dogs. Already we are wiping paws and then there is the daily ' shit ' patrol and no doubt more goodies under the snow. They found an old deer bone from last fall and that promptly produced digestive difiiculties.
On the carpet I found not only the deer bone but a corn cob from the compost pile and pine cones from the from yard. Disposed of all but Nanuq
found more rawhide chewies which at first Dysis watched jealously
and then decided to go to sleep in the sun.
Oh yes also had to do some basic repairs th the escape route between the garage and fence,
Spring is coming ...Enjoy your week!
