 Last Monday I had time to breathe and one of those “ I am content “ moments and happy to be back on home territory. Dogs sleeping on office floor, sunshine coming through windows, birds scrounging in backyard snow, laundry doing, bed changed, coffee pot cleaned, floors vacuumed and washed,  herb cheese bread in bread machine, dishwasher run and unloaded.

When I came back from my holiday I went straight into a few days of working at the hospital and thought “well I can handle this just work my ass off and pay off the credit cards “ but WHOA need to slow down and do some planning.

Lent is upon us and it is often a time of new beginnings.

Lent is the time in the Christian calendar that moves from the edge of winter through Easter, from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday and marks the 40 days of Jesus fasting in the desert. Traditionally a period of fasting and prayer.

So do I dare even look at the next few months and if I had the time and money and health what would be my goals.

Will be at the house and in the city for the next 2-3 months, working almost full time and thus plan on that basis….so here goes…

• Daily 20 min. meditation, prayer and reading
• Being on time..this is a difficult one as I am perennially known as being late but it means planning ahead and putting some margins into my life.
• So health wise for next two months I would like to keep my swimming up twice a week and yoga once a week. Also would like to get in one or two skis before the end of the season. I also need to get to physio to correct the limp and use of the cane.
• Weight wise would like to lose about 5 lbs and this may be as simple as giving up Tim Horton’s donuts! My usual is a large coffee, double milk, with a blueberry fritter.
• Finances: Have to sit down and go through bills and pay what I can or at least make a list.
  
• Not touching any of the credit cards
  
• Putting a portion from every pay check into savings and giving
