Do you ever find yourself unconsciously driving in an older familiar neighbourhood or on a route that an ingrained pattern to work or home and then suddenly realize “ Oh yeah, I don’t live here any more or that store on the corner, when did that move? “
Occasionally I am in the same situation but my old neighbourhood still includes some good friends, my church, my hairdresser, my vet and some great coffee spots.
One of these was my stopping spot yesterday afternoon. Wild Earth Bakery/Cafe on 99 St, expanded much in recent years and great place for stopping, offerings include different coffees, muffins, wraps or my snack fresh split pea soup and whole wheat slice of bread.
Then the trip for my coffee addiction..
Last Sunday night was a house concert with friends just a block away from the old house with a blues band. I think the sepia tones here really captured the laid back nature of the band.
Dogs well dogs are so good to have again… I just love how my dog thinks she is invisible because her head is under the foot of my bed.
The following video was courtesy my boarder as there is the occasional food snatching.

Someone helped themselves to the kitty Cat treats while I was out!! Lets see.....hmmmmmmm
Walks not everyday but when I can especially on the weekend.
This photo inspired the thought that "every season has its beauty" from a walk yesterday with dogs… the lichen against the barren trees we may not see at other times.
No dogs allowed but last Sunday afternoon got out on the skis probably for a final time in the season. A 30 minute drive south/east of the city is Strathcona wilderness center.
One of the animals seen was this porcupine whom did not seem in the least bit bothered by all the skiers... chewing contentedly in the top of the tree. Glad it was the TOP of the tree as they have 30,000 quills according to the sign.
Lastly and occupying most of my week is work!!!
March is National Social Work Month!
Every day I am reminded how our clients/patients/parishioners/customers/ staff/co-workers are always teaching us new lessons or reminding us of old ones.
