  • Cold weather blues

It has just been one of THOSE days!!!!The colder weather has returned here in the minus 20s with a greater wind chill factor...it has become windy, bitter and a light dusting of snow, although some intermittent sun...started to take down the Xmas lights on the porch but only partially completed the task...too nippy on the fingers! Dogs enjoyed the romp though outside but later in their enthusiasm got into the bags of their dried food which spilled down the basement stairs.! They got a scolding but gleefully ate the crumbs up. Tackling the books again with repairs, sorting fiction ones alphabetically and piles of children's books by size or publisher, all of which is taking much longer than planned.

  • Your dogs crack me up!!

  • @DeliaD - Delia....I added the photo where the puppy waited at the top of the steps with me scolding them....probably too confused but once given permission was right in there in clean up!

Sometimes I worry that all I ever blog about is dogs but appreciate your comments.

  • I enjoy when you blog about your beautiful dogs. They are the perfect winter dogs, and I love that they have so much freedom and space to frolic in the snow. My dog has a yard and she goes on lots of walks, but it's not the same. Your dogs are very lucky!

About me...

An Albertan & Canadian, definitely a northern gal. Social worker by profession, this blog has included some of my work over 10 years in Nunavut from 2002 on. Passionate about slowing down & taking time to appreciate the beauty of the outdoors or kindness in relationships as gifts & blessings; injustices against children in situations beyond their control; my faith; Nature, experiencing the outdoors whether cycling, walking. x-c skiing or gardening, my dogs, capturing on film God's beauty, experiencing life intensely & with the senses, richness of late afternoon light, wind in my hair cycling with my dog on a beach road, couching inches from an arctic flower or alpine lichen to capture it with my camera, insight of a student's new learning, a good conversation over a coffee.
