  • I loved the post of the link above . It was like a dream . Singiing the "Il est né le divin enfant" sous l ' Arctique doit marquer .

  • Have a happy and joyous New year.

  • @fauquet - Merci Michel, for stopping by, and looking at the other link...that was an exceedingly cold Christmas, but just the beginning of celebrations in most arctic communities as is followed by daily, feasts, games and often square, traditional or teen dances. Isn't blogging interesting, almost a journal on line, especially this time of year when one reflects and reviews.

    Joyeaux Noel et Bonne Annee!

  • RYC :Thanks for your comment Bonnie . I read also your reply above ( I don' t receive the e.mails they generate ). If you use reply" " please double with a "RYC " on my site

Well I read more attentively your post from the 27 december 2007 . It was cold but also uplifting .  This is exciting to read .
I see you return nextly to the north .on January 10th .. I don' t want to be indiscret but I wonder why you go so often in the arctic . ( a job , vacation ? ) . And also I hear the ice is melting in the arctic area ? have you noticed this ?

    Love
    Michel

  • @fauquet - Michel, in the throws of organizing house and trying to get packed for my trip north. i do so for work, as a social worker on a casual basis, somewhat like substitute teachers to fill in when there are vacancies. other wise airfare is prohibitive and wouls never be able to afford travel on my own. I have heard that the sea ice is remaining open longer than in previous years.

About me...

An Albertan & Canadian, definitely a northern gal. Social worker by profession, this blog has included some of my work over 10 years in Nunavut from 2002 on. Passionate about slowing down & taking time to appreciate the beauty of the outdoors or kindness in relationships as gifts & blessings; injustices against children in situations beyond their control; my faith; Nature, experiencing the outdoors whether cycling, walking. x-c skiing or gardening, my dogs, capturing on film God's beauty, experiencing life intensely & with the senses, richness of late afternoon light, wind in my hair cycling with my dog on a beach road, couching inches from an arctic flower or alpine lichen to capture it with my camera, insight of a student's new learning, a good conversation over a coffee.
