  • Our cat was named Ramona. We always choose girlie names for the females... Or literary. Ramona Oscarette Mathilda Ferguson. The Oscarette is after the movie Sylvester Stallone played in.--Oscar. Our daughter loved that movie. ;) ).

  • I have two dogs named after characters in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," Puck and Snug. Our vet has an office cat named Puck.
We had a Siamese cat named Snowflake for 20 years. My kids named that cat. The cat I had growing up (16 years) was Cricket, which I think is a good cat name. She was a Calico.
I like literary names for animals. You could call the kitty Happy Cat, kind of an anti-Grumpy Cat nod.

  • He looks like a Dexter. We have 3 old cats left out of 7. They were all strays. I kept saying, no more cats! Nobody listens to me around here. Haha. Now I'm trying to find airplane approved carriers so I can take 2 to Bucerias with us next winter. I'm not leaving them for 6 months!

    • Thanks for stopping Joylene. Kittens are a new experience for me and really surprised how mobile they are! If you see my X posy we decided on Shiloh as a name. The best to you in your search for carriers!

About me...

An Albertan & Canadian, definitely a northern gal. Social worker by profession, this blog has included some of my work over 10 years in Nunavut from 2002 on. Passionate about slowing down & taking time to appreciate the beauty of the outdoors or kindness in relationships as gifts & blessings; injustices against children in situations beyond their control; my faith; Nature, experiencing the outdoors whether cycling, walking. x-c skiing or gardening, my dogs, capturing on film God's beauty, experiencing life intensely & with the senses, richness of late afternoon light, wind in my hair cycling with my dog on a beach road, couching inches from an arctic flower or alpine lichen to capture it with my camera, insight of a student's new learning, a good conversation over a coffee.
